Upgrade BIOS under UEFI shell

The following steps detail how to update your BIOS using a bootable USB drive under the UEFI shell.

  1. Insert your USB drive into a host PC.

  2. Download the upgrade BIOS files from here and save them into your USB drive.

  3. Unplug the USB drive and insert it into your target system (COM-HPC-mMTL).

  4. Ensure all necessary accessory cables—such as keyboard, mouse, and display—are properly connected to the carrier board.

  5. Power on the system and enter FS0: from the UEFI shell.

  6. Select cd COM-HPC-mMTL_10010_Image file then enter pBIOS.nsh to begin the BIOS update.

  7. Once the update is complete, the system will display the following message.

  8. Remove the USB drive and restart the system. It should boot directly into the BIOS. Verify that the BIOS version is correct to complete the process.
