SOL and KVM is default enabled and it also rely on jumpers setting and BIOS setting. The information will be illustrated on bottom of this page for diagnostic purpose.


The steps for access the BMC for remote usage

Step 1

Connect the LAN port of Clint system and mgt.LAN port of Dev Kit through RJ45 cable

Step 2

Power on the Dev Kit and Client System


Step 3

Set the IP of the Client System

  • Open Network & Internet settings and then select Ethernet Properties

  • Select TCP/IPv4 and then press Properties button

  • Click Use the following IP address

  • Key-in the IP address as shown on picture below

  • Key-in admin for Username and admin for Password, then, press Sign me in button

Note : it will be required to change the your-owned password


  • The WebUI interface is launched and ready for use

SOL and KVM Setting

KVM

There’s a graphic inside the BMC for graphic emulation. Connection between CPU and BMC through a PCIex1 lane will be necessary for KVM. Default setting of JP5 is 2-3


SOL (Serial Over LAN)

UART connection between CPU and BMC through JP12, JP13 setting. This is the hardware setting for SOL. Default setting of JP12 & JP13 is 1-2

At BIOS setup, console enable at COM1 is also required for SOL, as shown as below.

COM1 default enabled. COM0, COM2, COM3 default disabled
