Introducing the I-Pi OSM

The I-Pi OSM IMX93 Development Kit brings the simplicity of popular maker platforms into a fully industrial, standards-based environment. While boards like Arduino and Raspberry Pi helped millions of engineers explore sensors, peripherals, and early prototypes, they were never designed for long-term, rugged, secure or certifiable deployments. ADLINK created the I-Pi platform to bridge this gap—offering the approachability of maker ecosystems with the reliability, longevity, security and traceability required for real industrial designs.

Engineers often begin prototyping at home using low-cost boards, only to hit obstacles when moving to production: consumer-grade components, limited environmental tolerance, unpredictable supply chains, and incompatible software stacks. The I-Pi OSM IMX93 solves these challenges by pairing the NXP i.MX 93–based OSM module with industrial-quality design practices, including full ECN/PCN change control and long-life component availability.

To ease software migration, the platform supports the MRAA library, enabling developers to control GPIO, I2C, SPI, PWM, and other interfaces using the same high-level APIs available on maker boards—with support for C++, Python, JavaScript, and Java. This makes transitioning from prototype to production dramatically faster while preserving the flexibility and openness engineers expect.
