CPU Socket IntroductionThe Ampere Altra Dev Kit comes with pre-assembled COM-HPC module, COM-HPC carrier, and power part heat sink. It is strongly suggested that you do not open the CPU socket and remove the Ampere SoC by yourself, as any over/under-torqued screwing may result in malfunctions such as system not able to boot up or memory not detectable. If you must open the CPU socket yourself, please ensure you follow the instructions carefully. Open the CPU load plate on the socket. There are five screws on the CPU load plate marked 1 to 5. To open the load plate, please ensure you unscrew them with T20 screw driver in the sequence of 5-4-3-2-1. To close the load plate, screw them up in the sequence of 1-2-3-4-5. The screwing torque should be set 12-14 in-lb (0.2035 -0.2379 N-m).
