Module InstallationThe Ampere Altra Dev Kit comes with the COM-HPC module, COM-HPC carrier, and power part heatsinks preassembled. It is strongly suggested that you do not remove the module from the carrier, as any misalignment may damage its connectors. If you must install or remove the module yourself, please follow the following instructions carefully. Installing Module onto Carrier 1. ADLINK has designed and provided 4 guide pin that must be used for proper installation or uninstallation of the module from the carrier. 2. Place the carrier on a leveled surface. 3. Take out the 4 guide pins and place them into the 4 holes on the carrier as indicated. 4. Align the module with the installed guide pins and put it gently onto the carrier, as illustrated below. 5. Using the pushing area indicated, firmly press down the module to secure it onto the carrier. 6. Once the module has been installed, remove the guide pins from the carrier board to finish. Removing Module from Carrier 1. ADLINK has designed and provided 4 guide pin that must be used for proper installation or uninstallation of the module from the carrier. 2. Place your carrier with module on a leveled surface. 3. Take out the 4 guide pins and place them into the 4 holes on the carrier as indicated. 4. Hold the upper and lower parts of the module and carefully pull it up along the guide pins to remove it from the carrier. 5. Once the module has been removed, remove the guide pins from the carrier board to finish.
